UI-TEC Forum of Chicago

The College of Engineering at UIUC is presenting the third UI-TEC Forum of Chicago.  We continue to value your input as we connect with our alumni and friends to show what our students are working on, and how we may all benefit from sharing what we know with each other.  We also want to learn more about your business, issues you are facing, and other topics you wish to explore.

In addition to networking with alumni and friends, John Fox will be giving a brief presentation titled "2006 B-B Marketing: What's Working and What's Not".

John is the author of Marketing Playbook: The Manual for Growing Organizations—102 of the Best Marketing Plays to Get Your Sales Team Across the Goal Line. This book has been endorsed by such well known marketing gurus such as Seth Godin, author of All Marketers are Liars and Free Prize Inside; Guy Kawasaki, the original Apple Evangelist and author of Art of the Start; Al Ries, author of 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing; Ben McConnell, author of Creating Customer Evangelists; and Rieva Lesonsky, Senior Vice President and Editorial Director of Entrepreneur Media/Entrepreneur Magazine. In his consulting practice, John works with the executive team of small businesses who want to leverage marketing to drive revenue from new and existing sources.

We will also have a short presentation from a student group – Allied Wind - who has developed MEMS Hotwire Anemometer (HWA) Flow Sensors, a type of microsensor system, for wind turbines.  Wind energy is a hot topic right now, and our students look forward to presenting their business idea in this area, and receiving your feedback.
