Illinois Innovation Tournament Video Contest
The University of Illinois is hosting an Innovation Tournament at the invitation of Stanford University. Stanford created the Innovation Tournament last year during Entrepreneurship Week, and this year is inviting students around the globe to participate in this year’s competition.
Any student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is invited to participate in the Illinois Innovation Tournament. Exciting prizes and prize categories will be announced at the Innovation Week kickoff event.
Your challenge is to use an assigned, everyday object to create as much "value" as possible. The mystery object will be revealed via the Innovation Tournament web page after the InnovationWeek Kickoff event, which will be after 8:00 PM on Friday, February 22, 2008.
General Rules:
- Students are encouraged to form teams to take on the challenge. Teams can be of any size.
- Teams should sign up for email updates on Stanford’s Entrepreneurship Week main page so that they get important updates during the week.
- Teams have five days to complete the challenge.
- All submissions must be in video format, must be three minutes or less, and less than 100 MB. Stanford has a YouTube Group for all of the submissions. For more information on uploading and submitting your video, explore these pages.
- Videos will be evaluated based on the content and creativity, not video production quality.
- All videos will be viewable by the general public.
- Judges will view the videos on the YouTube site, and choose winners for the Illinois Innovation Tournament. Winners will be announced at the InnovationWeek closing ceremony and mixer on Friday, February 29, 2008.

The best submissions will be showcased on the Stanford Entrepreneurship Week and Illinois InnovationWeek web sites.
Remember, value comes from actually implementing your ideas; unexecuted ideas may be submitted but will likely not qualify for prizes. To be successful, challenge assumptions, seize opportunities, and be creative!
